The earliest recommend a baby ultrasound scans is 6 weeks. We offer this as our early reassurance scans. At this stage, clear cardiac activity should be visible. Prior to 6 weeks, cardiac activity is difficult to detect, we may see a gestational sac. Sometimes it can be too early to see your baby’s heart beat. In these circumstances, we can offer a trans-vaginal scan that can confirm the viability of your pregnancy. This is at no further cost to you.
