This Fertility assessment scan has been designed for those who are thinking about the next steps on their fertility journey such as IVF, or those who have been trying for less than two years without as successful pregnancy.

This option consists of two separate appointments and ultrasounds during the course of one menstruation (one month). The first appointment will consist of an ultrasound scan to look at your overall pelvic health including follicle tracking, uterus lining and endometrial thickness. This is appointment is recommended for the first day after your menstrual period has ended. We will also carry out a hormone profile blood test, measuring the levels of your Follicle Stimulating Hormone, Luteinising hormone, Oestradiol hormone and Prolactin hormone.
On the second appointment, recommended on approximately day 14 of your cycle,
we will carry out further follicle tracking, advising on ovulation and when intercourse should take place. Depending on follicle growth a third scan may be recommended.

As we allow a full 20 minutes appointment this provides you with opportunity to ask any questions you may have and allows us to support you and provide you with the most accurate advice during the scan.

We recommend that you attend all scans with a relatively full bladder as this helps give us the best view of your baby.

Please note all women health scans will be carried out internally.

A qualified Sonographer will complete your scan. Our Sonographers are fully qualified and registered medical professionals with lots of ultrasound experience. Our Sonographers are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and follow the British Medical Ultrasound Society protocols and guidance.
If, at any stage, we notice anything unusual during your scan we will explain our findings based on the visual observation at that time. We will advise you on what to do next and refer you to you midwife, GP or early pregnancy unit, we have the contact information and details to provide to you in the clinic.

Our Phlebotomy trained professional will take a blood sample from a vein in your arm, using a small needle. This sample will be tested by our authorised partners, TDL. Results from your blood tests can be expected between 5 – 7 working days after the lab receives the sample
Oh Baby LTD will not review your blood test results – we recommend you discuss these results with your healthcare provider or GP. Dependent on the results of your blood test, you may require further testing with a healthcare professional.
