Women’s Pelvic Health & Wellbeing scan

Suitable for all women over 18 years old

What to expect:

• 40 minute appointment
• 2D ultrasound scan
• Visualisation of the uterus, uterus lining and ovaries
• Visualisation of the pelvic area
• Check for ovarian and polycystic cysts
• Detecting/ruling out endometriosis
• Check for pelvic inflammatory disease
• Ultrasound images and report digitally

Our Pelvic Health & Wellbeing Scan has been designed to include an overall pelvic ultrasound scan to investigate any ongoing or previous health worries. The aim of this scan is to provide answers to any questions you may have regarding your general pelvic wellbeing. This ultrasound scan can detect conditions such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries, pelvic inflammatory disease.

We recommend you attend the appointment with an empty bladder.

A qualified Sonographer will complete your scan which may be male or female. Our Sonographers are fully qualified and registered medical professionals with lots of ultrasound experience. Our Sonographers follow the British Medical Ultrasound Society protocols and guidance.

If, at any stage, we notice anything unusual during your scan we will explain our findings based on the visual observation at that time. We will advise you on what to do next, concluding our findings with a written report within 24 hours and refer you to your GP or local hospital unit. 

Please note all women’s health scans will be carried out internally.
